The first format is signing up on the PC through the Weibo website.

Step1: Go to this site: https://www.weibo.com/signup/mobile.php?lang=en-us

Once you have accessed this page, then click on the Official registration.

Step2: Complete the information which It has to be appeared with the green check mark by the end of the box, then press Sign up Now.

Step3: Change the country code to your country and then enter your phone number.

Step4: After entering the phone number, click Get Activation Code to receive the 6-digit code sent via text message on your mobile phone to fill in the code field and then press 下一步.

Step5: After that, the system will let you confirm the email, go checking your email and click a link to confirm, the system will enter a Weibo site and enter the login page for you.

Step6: Click, Login Now

Step7: Finished the registration process, you will be able to login normally by typing the information as an image below.

When having an account of Weibo as your own, now let’s come and see how to use it. When you are logging into the website, It looks like will be all in Chinese, but you don’t have to put it in serious, just gradually learn, remembering where it is, it’s enough.

Actual use is like combining Facebook and Twitter together. We can post the messages (up to 2,000 characters), pictures, live video, or seeing popular and trending stories.

The second format is to sign up on the mobile phone via the Weibo application.

When you already downloaded , click to enter the Weibo app and then you will find the homepage, click login button to register, then It will show you this page that you have to fill your phone number and wait for receiving the code from the system.

After receiving the code and inputting it, click sign up and we will come across Weibo’s terms and conditions of use, tick to accept and press next.

Next, choose the gender and set the date of birth. When finished, click Done. After that, the system will let you select what you are interested in, but you can press skip.

The system also let us select the people to follow. Which can skip first and then follow later.

Now it’s time to choose a profile picture and create a username, which can be in English or Chinese and then press the Start button.

Once the profile has been set up, it’s all done. Usability is somewhat easier than the website because it has English. When you want to search for the people to follow, click on the Discover button below and type their name in the search box.

When you have found the person you want to follow , just click on that person’s profile and there will be a follow button on the bottom left, which the first click is following. When pressed again, it can be set to a Special follow.

Weibo has more features. It is something very special for Chinese people and those who are fan of Chinese celebrities. Which is called Chaohua (超话), there is a trend that is becoming popular or something that is about to talk. Choa Hua will be organized into categories such as celebrities, movies, dramas, TV shows, including pets and various hobbies.

Chinese people attach importance to Chaohua, since each artist and actor will have their own chaohua. It means that if you are a fan of whom, you just go to follow a Chaohua of that person and you will receive the information, news or images that each fan will post.

Moreover, the important thing and a little fun for us is that there is a level of fanclub. Which you must be checked-in every day to collect the points to up the level or clicking a lot of like button of the fan posting’s pictures also help to speed up the level as well.
