Stray Kids, SKZ (스트레이 키즈) is a South Korean boy band formed by JYP Entertainment, which is composed of nine members: Bang Chan, Woojin, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N. They released their extended play Mixtape in January 2018 and officially debuted on March 25 with I Am Not.
Pre-debut
When Bang Chan, Han and Chang Bin were as trainees of the JYP Ent, they were forming a hip-hop group named 3RACHA. While Bang Chan called himself CB97, Chang Bin called SPEAR B, and Han called J.ONE. And also released their mixtape on Soundcloud and YouTube. Not so long after that, Bangchan reshaped the band again to become the members of Stray Kids.
Formation through a reality show and debut
In order to make their debut, all 9 members, which are Bang Chan, Woojin, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N., they had to go through the survival program called’ Stray Kids’, airing in October 2017 on Mnet, with the goal of getting their debut together. A group of children who have to leave their house and live on their own. Before the broadcasting, the MV “Hellevator” was released. After the mission, 2 members were eliminated, namely Lee know and Felix, but in the end, all 9 members made their debut together. After finishing the program, Stray Kids released the Mixtape as a pre-debut album, and before the official debut on March 25, 2018, the members wrote their own songs in the album as well.
